Details. The key is hidden in the details.

Roberto Bermudez (Ricardo Darin), a specialist in criminal law and university professor, holds the post-graduate course for advanced students which lasts eight weeks. Roberto is surprised that among students is Gonzalo (Alberto Ammann), the son of his old friend, who has a much different view of justice and the law from him. When during lectures on the parking lot in front of the faculty people find the body of a young girl who was a waitress at the club where students usually meet, Roberto will suspect that Gonzalo is a killer. Interested for the case, Roberto will begin to conduct his own investigation in order to satisfy his curiosity. Through his contacts in the police and sisters of the murdered girl, it will try to come up to clues that will confirm Gonzalo’s involvement. As the case progresses, Robert’s paranoia and obsession with Gonzalo will become increasingly higher.

Thesis on a homicide is a 2013 Argentine thriller-mystery film directed by Hernán Goldfrid and is based on best seller by Diego Paszkowski.

The lack of pace and tension are the biggest flaws of this film. One gets the impression that the director tried to make uncertain film without intense scenes. Ricardo Darin with his experience and good acting covers not so great scenario. Otherwise the dialogues between him and Alberto Ammann represent the most interesting part of the film in which the lovers of psychological games and mysteries will most enjoy.

While it had all the prerequisites to be an excellent, Thesis on a homicide is solid film which is could be brilliant.
