Description:

Crime d’amour follows the story of two women who works in a multinational company based in Paris. Christine Rivière (Kristin Scott Thomas) is a cold and cruel director that appropriates ideas of associates as his own and thus progressing toward to higher positions in the company while Isabelle Guérin (Ludivine Sagnier) is young, ambitious and intelligent assistant who, for the sake of success, experiencing professional and personal humiliations. Wanting to be like Christine, Isabelle enters into a relationship with her ​​boyfriend Philippe Deschamps (Patrick Mille) and secretly concluded a business that is very important for Christine’s career. When Christine finds out, she decides to take revenge, not knowing what would be the consequences of that decision…

Film ˝Crime d’amour˝ is a psychological thriller in which director shows outwitting of two ambitious rivals. The best part of this film is the transformation of a quiet and private person in a person who is willing to play the game where “the end justifies the means”. Crime d’amour should look and because of well-written script and solid acting.

Brian De Palma did a remake of this film called ˝Passion˝, which has a better atmosphere and photography, but the scenario has a lot of flaws and inconsistencies.

This is also and the last project of French writer-director Alain Corneau, who died a week after its release.
