Rodrigo Cortés is a Spanish film director, producer, screenwriter, editor, and occasional actor. He directed the 2010 hit psychological thriller Buried. Cortés' fondness for film making started at an early stage. At 16 he had already directed his first short film in Super 8. In 1998 he directed the short Yul that won over 20 awards. In 2007 he directed The Contestant (Concursante in Spanish).
